En memoria de A. Machtelt Bolkestein (1944-2001), la fundaci\u00f3n Stichting Fonds Machtelt Bolkestein (\u00c1msterdam) ha creado un premio para la claridad expositiva en las comunicaciones orales presentadas por j\u00f3venes investigadores en los Coloquios Internacionales de Ling\u00fc\u00edstica Latina que se celebran cada dos a\u00f1os. El premio, que ha sido concedido ya en seis convocatorias, consiste en un diploma, 500 euros y la invitaci\u00f3n a una exposici\u00f3n plenaria breve en el siguiente Coloquio. El \u00faltimo ganador fue Gulielmo Inglese de las universidades de Pav\u00eda-B\u00e9rgamo por su contribuci\u00f3n \u201cBasic valence orientation in Early and Classical Latin\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nBienvenida<\/strong>
Nos complace anunciar que la vig\u00e9simo pimera edici\u00f3n del Coloquio Internacional de Ling\u00fc\u00edstica Latina <\/em>(ICLL 2021) se celebrar\u00e1 en Santiago de Compostela<\/a> (Espa\u00f1a), del 24 al 28 de mayo de 2021, con el auspicio de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela<\/a> y la colaboraci\u00f3n de la Facultad de Filolog\u00eda<\/a>, el Grupo de Investigaci\u00f3n \u00abEstudios Cl\u00e1sicos y Medievales\u00bb<\/a> y el Departmento de Filolog\u00eda Cl\u00e1sica, Francesa e Italiana<\/a>.<\/p>\n

El coloquio comenzar\u00e1 el lunes 24 de mayo a mediod\u00eda (recogida de material: desde las 14:30h.; sesi\u00f3n inugural: 16h.). Las comunicaciones se presentar\u00e1n desde el martes 25 hasta el viernes, 28 de mayo (sesi\u00f3n y cena de clausura). A mitad de semana, despu\u00e9s de medio d\u00eda de sesiones de trabajo, tendr\u00e1 lugar un programa cultural. Se propondr\u00e1 una excursi\u00f3n para el s\u00e1bado 29 de mayo.<\/p>\n

En el coloquio podr\u00e1n utilizarse el ingl\u00e9s, espa\u00f1ol, franc\u00e9s, alem\u00e1n, italiano y lat\u00edn. Se podr\u00e1 tratar cualquier aspecto de la ling\u00fc\u00edstica latina, ya sea desde una perspectiva sincr\u00f3nica como diacr\u00f3nica, en el arco temporal que abarca el Thesaurus Linguae Latinae<\/em>. Las contribuciones que tengan en cuenta los desarrollos recientes en el campo de la ling\u00fc\u00edstica son especialmente bienvenidas. Las comunicaciones de tem\u00e1tica did\u00e1ctica o no propiamente ling\u00fc\u00edstica en general no podr\u00e1n ser aceptadas. Como es habitual, las comunicaciones se expondr\u00e1n en 20 minutos (+10 minutos para la discusi\u00f3n).<\/p>\n

Las ponencias y comunicaciones se presentar\u00e1n en sesiones plenarias y paralelas respectivamente. Podr\u00e1 haber adem\u00e1s workshops sobre temas concretos; de acuerdo con las sugerencias del Comit\u00e9 Internacional, todas las workshops tendr\u00e1n lugar en sesiones paralelas procurando que no interfieran con las sesiones ordinarias de comunicaciones.<\/p>\n

  1. Los candidatos deber\u00e1n estar en la etapa inicial de su carrera acad\u00e9mica, realizando su tesis doctoral o habi\u00e9ndola concluido recientemente. Deber\u00e1 ser la primera o la segunda ocasi\u00f3n en que participan en una edici\u00f3n de los Coloquios Internacionales sobre Ling\u00fc\u00edstica Latina.<\/li>\n
  2. Se considerar\u00e1 conditio sine qua non<\/em> que la comunicaci\u00f3n oral presentada sea un trabajo de calidad, que aborde problemas ling\u00fc\u00edsticos del lat\u00edn en el periodo cubierto por el Thesaurus Linguae Latinae<\/em> y que demuestre familiaridad con los conceptos y teor\u00edas relevantes en la ling\u00fc\u00edstica contempor\u00e1nea.<\/li>\n
  3. Durante la presentaci\u00f3n, el candidato deber\u00e1 mostrarse consciente de que se encuentra ante una audiencia variada en t\u00e9rminos de nacionalidad, lengua nativa y subdisciplina en el \u00e1mbito de la ling\u00fc\u00edstica latina.<\/li>\n
  4. No se tomar\u00e1n en consideraci\u00f3n las contribuciones presentadas en r\u00e9gimen de coautor\u00eda.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    El Jurado estar\u00e1 compuesto por cuatro o cinco destacados especialistas en ling\u00fc\u00edstica latina, elegidos por la Fundaci\u00f3n, que emitir\u00e1n un informe en la sesi\u00f3n de clausura del Coloquio. Si resuelven que ninguna de las comunicaciones orales se ajusta a los criterios mencionados m\u00e1s arriba, el premio quedar\u00e1 desierto.<\/p>\n

    La selecci\u00f3n de candidatos se har\u00e1 en dos etapas: la primera a partir de los res\u00famenes presentados, y la segunda en funci\u00f3n de las comunicaciones orales.<\/p>\n

    Como resultado de la primera etapa, el Jurado seleccionar\u00e1 a diez candidatos, a quienes se solicitar\u00e1 la entrega de la versi\u00f3n completa de su comunicaci\u00f3n una semana antes del comienzo del Coloquio.<\/p>\n

    \n Machtelt<\/strong> BOLKESTEIN <\/strong>(1944-2001), Catedr\u00e1tica de Lat\u00edn de la Universidad de \u00c1msterdam, contribuy\u00f3 de manera sustancial al desarrollo de la moderna ling\u00fc\u00edstica latina. Fue una de las primeras en aplicar conceptos propios de la pragm\u00e1tica al an\u00e1lisis de la lengua latina (fen\u00f3menos relacionados con el orden de palabras, an\u00e1fora, uso de los tiempos). Su acercamiento al lenguaje parti\u00f3 de una perspectiva funcional y particip\u00f3 en el debate te\u00f3rico de la Gram\u00e1tica Funcional, lo que la convirti\u00f3 en una de los raros latinistas apreciados fuera de su propio campo. Su obra, ejemplar por el uso sistem\u00e1tico de conceptos te\u00f3ricos y de una clara metodolog\u00eda, como tambi\u00e9n su energ\u00eda y entusiasmo, sirvieron de inspiraci\u00f3n no solo a sus alumnos, sino tambi\u00e9n a muchos colegas. Muri\u00f3 prematuramente, cuatro meses despu\u00e9s del und\u00e9cimo Coloquio de Ling\u00fc\u00edstica Latina que hab\u00eda organizado en \u00c1msterdam.

    In memory of the late A. Machtelt Bolkestein (1944\u20132001) the Stichting Fonds Machtelt Bolkestein (Amsterdam) has established a prize for clarity of exposition of contributions by young researchers at the biennial International Colloquium on Latin Linguistics. Until now the prize has been awarded six times. The prize consists of a diploma, \u20ac 500 and the invitation for a short plenary session in the next ICLL. The last winner is Gulielmo Inglese from Pavia-Bergamo for his paper \u201cBasic valence orientation in Early and Classical Latin\u201d.<\/p>\n

    2. A conditio sine qua non<\/em> is that the paper presented has a good quality, deals with linguistic problems of Latin in the period covered by the Thesaurus Linguae Latinae<\/em>, and demonstrates familiarity with relevant concepts and theories in contemporary linguistics.<\/li>\n
    3. The candidate shows in her\/his presentation that he\/she is aware of the variety among the audience in terms of nationality, native language, and subdiscipline in Latin linguistics.<\/li>\n
    4. Co-authored contributions will not be taken into consideration.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The jury will consist of four or five outstanding Latin linguists appointed by the Stichting. They will report during the closing session of the Colloquium. If they conclude that no presentation corresponds to the criteria mentioned above, there will be no winner.<\/p>\n

      There is twofold selection of candidates, the first part made by the Jury from the abstracts sent by candidates, and the second one, from the presentations.<\/p>\n

      As a result of the first part of the selection, the Jury will make a shortlist of ten people. The shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide the full version of their paper a week before the conference.<\/p>\n

      Applicants for the prize have to indicate their interest when they submit their inscription for the Colloquium, together with the abstract of their paper.<\/p>\n

      1. Machtelt<\/strong> BOLKESTEIN <\/strong>(1944-2001), professor of Latin linguistics at the University of Amsterdam, contributed in a substantial way to the development of modern Latin linguistics. She was one of the firsts who applied pragmatic concepts to the analysis of the Latin language (word order phenomena, anaphora, use of tenses). She approached language from a functional perspective and participated in the theoretical debate of Functional Grammar, which made her one of the rare Latinists appreciated outside their proper field. Her work, exemplary by a systematic use of theoretical concepts and a clear methodology, as well as her activity and enthusiasm gave inspiration not only to students but also to many colleagues. She died prematurely, four months after the 11th Colloquium on Latin linguistics that she organised in Amsterdam.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
